There are some familiar faces back in Coronation Street as Gail Rodwell (Helen Worth) is back on screen in time to discover a massive secret while Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) also returns – and tracks down her on the run son Todd. But she ends up in serious danger.

Elsewhere, Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine) prepare to make it official but Geoff (Ian Bartholomew) has other ideas while there are more blows ahead for poor Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).

Monday October 5 Part One

While Leanne watches Oliver, Nick listens to a message from Sam. Nick drops the bombshell to Gail that he has a secret son – and he wants him to be a part of the family.

Steve and Leanne meet with a mediator but the doctors reiterate that a second opinion would be a waste of money. Leanne vows to take her case to court.

Billy confides in David that Paul is taking on too much but David points out that the voluntary work could actually help him.

Alya visits Yasmeen and gives her the news that she has been granted an appeal but Yasmeen is terrified. Tim and Sally secretly plan their wedding but Geoff overhears the plans.

Eileen returns.

Monday October 5 Part Two

Gail advises Nick to be straight with Leanne about Sam but he is certain that now is not the time. Tracy arrives to find Leanne and Steve talking about spending thousands on legal costs for a court case. Tracy pulls the plug on the sales of their businesses – and she tells Steve they can’t win the case. Steve is enraged with her and then Steve breaks down at Oliver’s bedside.

Faye apologises to Sally and Tim for letting the cat out of the bag. Tim warns Geoff away while Yasmeen admits to Alya that she feels safe in prison and doesn’t want to leave.

Billy and Sean explain the Todd situation to Eileen. Eileen vows to find her son when she hears a gangster is after him.

Wednesday October 7 Part One

Gail is made up when she meets Sam for the first time while Nick makes a promise. Nick and Leanne attend a meeting with their new barrister and Leanne is unimpressed with him. Realising he has no choice, Nick reveals that it’s his son that he is texting.

As an excited Sally prepares for the wedding, Geoff begs Tim to let him come. Tim confides in Abi that he is worried so she takes matters into her own hands to intervene.

As Eileen worries about Todd, Sean returns home to find an intruder who flees. But under the hood was Todd…

Faye reveals she has a new boyfriend, Craig is disappointed.

Wednesday October 7 Part Two

Nick explains that Natasha kept the birth of Sam a secret. When he admits that he met Sam recently, Leanne demands that he summons Natasha and Sam to the hospital. As she meets Sam, how will Leanne react?

Tim and Sally return from the registry office and head for their reception but then the police turn up. What has Geoff done? Tim tells Geoff that he has lost his family – and it’s his own fault.

As Eileen investigates, she finds a note stuffed under the door. Faye drags Craig onto the dancefloor and tells him any girl would be lucky to have him.

Friday October 9

Hour long episode.

When Dev reveals that someone broke into the shop, Johnny suspects Scott as he is seen giving cash for the appeal. When Johnny confronts him, Scott reveals the truth and when the police catch the culprits, Johnny is forced to apologise to Scott.

Eileen reads the note and heads to meet him at the warehouse. Craig reveals that a body has been found that matches Todd’s description. When she meets Todd, he reveals he is in danger – but a menacing man steps out of the shadows with grim intent…

Steve and Leanne get a date for their first court hearing. David helps Shona move back in and Alya enjoys winding Geoff up.
