Coronation Street villain Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) will turn the head of a "notable female character" later this year.
Boss Iain MacLeod has teased what fans of the ITV1 soap can expect from the Weatherfield residents over the next 12 months.
He revealed that Damon will catch the eye of a familiar face which will threaten to tear apart the mystery woman's family for good.

Iain explained: "Damon is a dangerous character.
"At first he may seems that he's kind of more of a sophisticated operator than his brother Harvey and a bit less of a blunt instrument, but actually what we discover in the not to distant future is that kind of more polished act is just masking that's every bit as dangerous and brutal as Harvey is.
"He brings some criminality into a family that could probably do with moving on from their past but suddenly they are back in the mess again thanks to him.
"There's loads of stuff to play as he connects with family members and upends their lives as well."
He continued: "As the year goes on, there's something about a bad boy I think it's fair to say, and he's got this attraction for a notable female character in the show who's going to have her head turned in a way that has consequences.
"I'm currently working on storylines for June and there's a built up and an explosion in the storyline involving Damon and this love story.
"I'm really excited about Ciaran's presence in the show and he just has this sense of danger about his performance."
Iain later went on to address wether or not killer Harvey Gaskell (Will Melllor) could be making a return after being sent to prison last year.

"I would love to think that some point in the future that we could revisit Harvey," he admitted.
"It's tricky when fictional characters are in jail but we've overcome more difficult hurdles than that in the past so I'd love to think that at some point we'd be able to get Harvey back out on the street and stick him in a room with Damon who by the time Harvey would get out Damon and Harvey would be blood enemies.
"The idea of Harvey verses Damon in the future is kind of tantalising."
