Coronation Street bad boy Jack James Ryan has paid a touching tribute to his co-star sister.
The actor currently plays Weatherfield troublemaker Jacob Hay and his older sister Rebecca Ryan portrays the role of Lydia Chambers in the ITV soap.
Fans were left on the edge of their seats last night as Adam Barlow (Sam Roberson) plummeted over a balcony at a shopping centre.
The incident occurred following a showdown with his former flame Lydia, who has been terrorising Adam for months.
Things turned tense between the pair as it was revealed that Adam forced Lydia to have an abortion after she told him she was pregnant with his child.
Lydia slapped Adam and then gave him a shove hard enough that Adam toppled over the railing and fell.
As Adam's life hangs in the balance, Rebecca's brother Jack took to Twitter to praise his sibling's performance in the dramatic episode, which aired on Monday night (March 21).
The actor penned: "Just caught up with #Corrie and I genuinely couldn’t be any prouder of my big sister tonight!
"She’s playing an absolute blinder, giving such dynamism and depth to the role.
"I’ll never get bored of seeing my big sister smashing it on the telly @RebeccaRyan1 @itvcorrie."
Unsurprisingly, several Corrie fans rushed to reply to Jack's tweet about Rebecca.
One fan gushed: 'Proud to be a fan of both of you. You are both smashing it and cant wait for more scenes."
Another added: "She absolutely smashed it, what an actress, really glad we got a back story for Lydia.
"I can’t wait to see what’s coming up, also can’t wait to see Jacob back on screen and see what’s coming up with him and Amy in this new storyline."
A third person posted: "So proud of the both of you @JackJamesRyan_. You’re incredible actors and you should be so proud of yourselves! I grew up watching @RebeccaRyan1 on Waterloo Road and She was one of my favourites in that too! Keep up the good work."
While a fourth social media user said: "It's so lovely when siblings are supportive towards each other."
It has been revealed that Rebecca will leave Corrie at the end of her current storyline.
The actress filmed her scenes earlier this month.
Fans will have to wait and see how Lydia will leave the cobbles.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV at 8pm
