Coronation Street star Colson Smith has bagged himself a brand new BMW, worth around £23,000.

Colson, who is best known for playing Craig Tinker in the ITVsoap, has replaced his Mercedes for the new bright blue vehicle, which is believedto be from the BMW-1 series.

Taking to his Instagram story, the 21-year-old shared aphoto of his shiny new wheels, as he captioned the post: ‘Gonna see me coming…’

Later on, he joked that he did not want to read theinstruction manual for the car, and wanted his followers to help him figure outhow it works.

Posting a boomerang of the car to his story, he wrote: ‘Todayconsists of sitting in my new car and playing with the setting…

‘Anybody got any tips n tricks on the tech in the new BMWs? Can I get car play?’

‘And yea, I know I should read the manual, but who wants to do that? (sic).’

Sounds about right.

The actor, who has appeared in Coronation Street since 2011, was recently praised by fans after he revealed his weight loss while attending the TRIC Awards earlier this month.

He shared a picture to Instagram, where he posed alongside his cast mates Jack P Shepherd (David Platt) and Sally Ann Matthews (Jenny Connor), captioning the post: ‘Family OUTING. #TRIC2020.’

Fans were very pleased with Colson’s progress, with one writingin the comments: ‘You are looking amazing.’

‘Looking in good shape,’ a follower penned.

‘Wow, you have done amazing with the weight loss and getting fit,’ another fan added. ‘Go Colson!’

It was a big night for Corrie at the TRIC Awards, as theywere awarded the gong for Best Soap.

Colson has been involved in several storylines during his tenure on the show, including his battle with OCD and his brief relationship with sinister Kayla (Mollie Winward).

In recent episodes, Craig revealed that his ‘mates’ in the police force have claimed that he can no longer chase suspects, so he has decided to exercise more often – no doubt this is a storyline written in to accommodate Colson’s real life weight loss.

Coronation Street continues next Monday at 7:30pm on ITV.
