Daisy Midgeley’s whole world changes in a split second in upcoming Coronation Street episodes as her stalker, Justin (Andrew Still) attacks her with acid.
The act of revenge comes after Daisy played dirty and got Justin arrested in Victoria Garden, and on the morning of her wedding day, she even wakes up and thinks that her stalker has finally got the message and will leave her alone.
Preoccupied with other wedding day stresses like a sore eye, Ryan (Ryan Prescott) stepping in as a driver and the cake decorations being all wrong, Daisy certainly isn’t focusing on whether Justin may turn up and ruin things.
‘It’s a brave thing, to still do the wedding even though there’s so much going on’, Charlotte Jordan recently told us.
‘I think they both feel that if they can get married and get to the next step, it will be another message to Justin that she isn’t available for him.
But then, as expected, everything changes.
As Ryan heads back into the pub to collect Daisy so they can drive to the venue, he spots Justin lurking in the shadows, staring right at the bride.
And after a comment about Daisy’s identity changing forever, Justin then throws acid at her.
With the storyline taking another dark turn, Charlotte revealed how she reacted to these upcoming scenes:
‘F me that’s dark! I was shocked and really didn’t see that coming, I didn’t think they’d go that route with it because it’s not something you’d usually see on television, I was really surprised by it.’
‘She’s so tired by this point’, Charlotte said, explaining how her character is feeling after months of hell from her stalker.
‘She’s doing everything she can and is trying to stop Justin from making her life miserable but nothing seems to be working. The wedding is the thing Daisy is trying to keep positive about but it’s so difficult.
‘I think everybody thought it was a harmless crush. She’s used to male attention, but I don’t think she could’ve ever understood quite how obsessed he would become.’
