FORMER Coronation Street actress has taken a job working for Aldi after quitting the soap last year

But all is not quite as it seems – the actress, who played hairdresser Emma Brooker on the ITV soap – isn't stacking shelves or ringing up items on the till.

Alexandra is working with the supermarket giant as part of their new ad campaign.

While she isn't seen on screen, she voices the role of the speaking sausage casserole, announcing "just £2.69!"

Alexandra shared the video for the promo spot on her instagram page, revealing:"I am… Sausage Casserole!

"Never felt so connected to a role!," she laughed.

The actress was last seen in Weatherfield back in April, and revealed why she decided to spread her wings.

Speaking about her decision to leave, she said: “Playing Emma, on the most iconic street there is, has been the best experience of my life.

"Four years have gone so fast.

“Compared to other cast members I still feel like a newbie, which makes my decision to leave all the more difficult.

"But I feel it’s the right time for me.

“I can’t thank everyone at Coronation Street enough for welcoming me and trusting me to tell so many wonderful and heartfelt stories.
