Bruno Langley was axed from Coronation Street in 2017 but upcoming scenes will see Gareth Pierce take over the role of Todd Grimshaw. The runaway turns to his mum Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) for help but when concerns for his safety rise, viewers could be shocked to learn of Todd’s true intentions.
Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) and Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) will discover Todd has been trying to get in contact with Eileen.
Todd begs his mum for £1,000 and urges her to hide it in Victoria Gardens.
Mary and Sean enlist Billy Mayhew’s help (Daniel Brocklebank) but their plan backfires.
They plant a bag of fake cash but when the time comes for the pick-up, the runaway is nowhere to be seen.

Sean and Billy struggle to hide how worried they are and realise they need to intervene further.
After searching through several social media sites, Sean confides in Billy and the pair go to the police.
The pair meet up with the Finding People charity which assures them that everything is being done to help find Todd.
However, Sean continues his private search and discovers a man’s body has been found in the river.
Revealing his reaction to the upsetting news, actor Daniel said: “It’s terrifying.
“They are scouring the website for info and see that a body has been found in the canal, particularly as some personal effects of Todd’s were found near the canal.
“You can play a line a million ways, but I chose to make it quite obvious that regardless of the history, Billy still cares deeply for him, even if it’s not romantic.”
However, could Coronation Street fans be in for a huge shock when Todd turns up after all?

Eileen has barely heard from her son since he departed the cobbles.
For Todd to get in touch and risk being spotted by someone he knows, he must be in real trouble.
However, there could be a sinister reason for Todd’s no-show that will become apparent in upcoming episodes.
In the time between sending the letter to Eileen and the pick-up at Victoria Gardens, could Todd’s financial situation have gotten worse?
The runaway’s personal effects will be discovered near the river but this could be a sick trick by Todd.
If Todd has found himself in trouble with a vicious loan shark he may decide faking his own death is the only way out.
Will Billy and Sean track Todd down before he does something stupid?
