CORONATION Street's Imran Habeeb is stunned after Abi Franklin unexpectedly gave birth.

Coming up in the ITV soap, the solicitor makes an important decision about the newborn.

Months after going through the trauma of losing her son Seb, Abi (portrayed by Sally Carman) became a mother again after a drugs binge.

The mechanic was recently seen given birth and viewers of the long-running soap were shocked as she had told Imran (Charlie De Melo) she was not pregnant.

Next week, Imran calls at the garage and reminds Abi's husband Kevin (Michael Le Vell) that, no matter the circumstances, Abi is well within her rights to get maternity pay.

Imran makes this important decision as he finds out he is the father of Abi's baby Alfie.

Abi is trying to convince social workers she is perfectly capable of taking of a child, notably by being enrolled in rehad.

Despite her old demons rearing their ugly heads, Abi is determined to give Alfie a proper home, as she mentions to Toyah Battersby – Imran's fiancée.

When he finds out he fathered Abi's baby, behind closed doors, Imran is stunned and asks to see his son.

But when him and Abi spot Toyah watching from the corridor, it becomes hard for and emotion Imran to tell the truth.

The solicitor had a one-night stand with Abi back in October, 2021, which resulted in a pregnancy scare.

While she believed she could be pregnant, assuring Imran she would do a test to confirm the pregnancy, Abi vowed she would be keeping the potential baby and come clean to her spouse about their affair.

In early January, 2022, Abi let it subtly slip to Imran that she was not pregnant, leading viewers to think this was not the end of the storyline.

Eventually, Kevin found out about their affair and Abi was quickly thrown into the doghouse.

Although she kept it secret for months and went down the aisle with Kevin despite the affair, Imran was honest about Toyah.

Imran admitted his infidelity to Toyah shortly after the events but failed to mention Abi was his other woman.
