Gary (played by Mikey North) was in pursuit of Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) and Bethany (Lucy Fallon) reached out to help him.
Bethany offered his the use of her Fiat 500 in order to track her mother down on the ITV soap.
However, this move baffled fans as Bethany had not been seen in the car before nor had the vehicle been seen on Coronation Street.
Others were completely surprised that Bethany even possessed a driving license.
Those watching at home took to Twitter to express their astonishment at this turn of events.
“How long has bethany been driving and when did she get that car? #Corrie,” one questioned.
Another added: “Since when did Bethany have a car. I didn’t even know she could drive #Corrie.”
“My first car was an old Punto worth 600 notes. Unlike Bethany’s fancy wheels. Where and how did that happen? She’s never had a car before? #Corrie,” a third questioned.
A fourth asked: “When did Bethany get a driving license and a soft top fiat 500 please? #corrie.”
“Absolutely stunned by tonight’s #Corrie. Bethany has a CAR?!??!” a fifth exclaimed.
It seems it’s like mother like daughter when it comes to mystery cars as it’s not long since viewers were shocked to see Sarah had a car.
Back in April, Sarah had suspicions that Gary was cheating on her and so she set out to follow him.
Sarah stalked her boyfriend in a Volkswagen Golf, much to fans’ surprise.
Last night saw Gary lured to the woods by Rick Neelan (Greg Wood) to kill him.
While it ended on a cliffhanger, spoilers released by the soap for next week suggest the outcome.
News will reach the Street that Rick’s car has been found abandoned in a street and police look to CCTV for more clues.
Could Gary have killed Rick, or has Rick scarpered from Weatherfield?
Another mystery looks set to arrive when a young girl turns up on the cobbles looking for Rick.
But viewers will have to wait to find out her identity and what she really wants.
Coronation Street continues tomorrow at 7.30pm on ITV.
