Coronation Street fans have been left somewhat confused after actress Amy Robbins seemingly confirmed she has departed the ITV soap already.
Portraying the role of Christina Boyd, Amy’s first scenes on the cobbles aired last month, with her character arriving in the pub after discovering her daughter,
Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) was engaged.
It became apparent that Christina and Daisy’s relationship had become damaged over the years. The beloved character wasn’t pleased to have her mum in town and did all she could to avoid her.
After clashing with Daisy’s stepmum, Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews), Christina decided – in the episode broadcasted on February 1 – that she would leave Weatherfield in order to keep the peace.
Recently, Coronation Street fans wondered if Christina wouldn’t return to the cobbles after a social media post from Amy.
Sharing a snap of herself, Rob Mallard (Daniel Osbourne) and Charlotte behind the bar in the Rovers, she wrote: ‘And so .. Christina bids a fond farewell to her beloved long suffering Daisy and her darling soon to be soon in law Daniel . @charliejordanxo @rob.mallard @sallyannmathews I shall miss you ❤️Thankyou ALL at @coronationstreet for making me so welcome. As dream jobs go .. this one was hard to beat ♥️.’

This caused many of her followers to be surprised, as Christina only appeared in a handful of episodes.
‘Oh no is that it? There is so much more they could have done with the character’, one account said.
Another wrote: ‘What a great character, hope you’re back soon!’.
Due to the soap filming weeks in advance, Christina will continue to appear on screen for some time, with this image more than likely being related to her exit scenes later in the year.
While Daisy has said goodbye to Christina for now, she is still trying to get stalker Justin (Andrew Still) off her back, but with Charlotte Jordan confirming things are set to get even worse, it seems Daisy’s life could be in danger for quite some time.
‘She’s just always on edge,’ the actress said. ‘This guy gets a job to be on her street so he can keep an even closer eye on her. She’s looking over her shoulder constantly, she never knows where he’s going to appear.
‘He is totally delusional and believes they’re in this loving relationship and Daniel is somehow an obstacle for them.
‘She doesn’t know how far that delusion is going to go and she doesn’t know how dangerous that will make him in the long run and she doesn’t know what’s going to tip him over the edge.
‘It’s just a really scary situation for her to be in.’
