Max George pretends to propose to Maisie Smith on The Chase

Celebrity MasterChef fans have accused The Wanted star Max George of “cheating” for the second time this week after last night’s episode.

The 34-year-old singer was tasked, along with the other contestants, with creating his own two dishes in an attempt to earn a place in the semi-finals of the BBC favourite.

Max decided to do an interpretation of a Burmese curry he’d been taught to rustle up by A-list chefs at a top London restaurant.

Fans quickly became vocal online as they deemed the decision unfair and accused Max of “cheating” in the competition.

It comes after similar accusations involving a “fix scandal” were made against him earlier in the week after he admitted he had “lied” about his cooking experience.

Friday’s show saw comedian Shazia Mizra, broadcaster Terry Christian and Max competing to remain in the competition.

As the latter began to whip up his meal, judge John asked whether he’d based it on anything he’d tried himself.

“When I went to the restaurant to work, it was a Burmese restaurant and they made something similar,” Max confessed.

Some fans were disgruntled by his influence for the food as they accused him of replicating a recipe and passing it off as his own.
