QUICK-stepping Casualty star Charles Venn tonight celebrates four years playing nurse Jacob Masters on the BBC drama.

However, many viewers know him simply as the hottest man in soap – a reputation given a massive boost by his sizzling turn on Strictly Come Dancing.

The 46-year-old actor joined Casualty on 18 July 2015 as new nurse Jacob, and quickly landed himself a gig as a series regular.

He leaps into action tonight when there's a riot at the local jail and people with shocking injuries start pouring into hospital.

One admirer congratulated him for reaching four years today, tweeting: "What an absolute dream he is! Thanks for blessing us with the amazing Jacob."

But Casualty is far from his only impressive acting role, with the star appearing in films including The Bourne Ultimatum and Batman epic The Dark Knight.

The star got his big break on Sky One's fondly-remembered football drama Dream Team as Curtis Alexander in 2003.

The following year he crossed over to another sports soap, Footballers' Wives, where he was 'Mr Bling' Tremaine Gidigbi.

Roles in EastEnders as Morgan's dad Ray Dixon and as the sexy firefighter in Miranda followed.

However, he gained his biggest following thanks to Strictly, where finished sixth alongside Karen Hauer (formerly Clifton) wowing fans with his samba.

He lost out to Ashley Roberts in the dance-off but found a legion of fans thanks to his often-shirtless routines.

He memorably dressed up in a white naval suit to perform the American Smooth to the strains of Up Where We Belong from An Officer And A Gentleman.

Charles spoke about his technique on the show explaining: "The Foxtrot is nice, I’m trying to be fluid like water.

"I’m trying to be more flowing with Karen, I’m trying to find my groove, I never thought I’d be doing dances like this."

However, fans were left impressed by his moves.

One wrote: "I mean seriously though? Who gave Charles Venn the right to be that hot????????????"

Another wrote: "Charles Venn is so sexy! Good grieeeffffff."
