CALL the Midwife fans recently heard the devastating news that actress Helen George and her co-star Jack Ashton had split after seven years together.
The duo had worked together for many years, with Helen joining the show in 2012 as Trixie Franklin and Jack joining in 2014 as Tom Hereward. He then left in 2018.
She shared the news and said, "Some months ago, we separated.
"Our two beautiful girls remain the focus, and I respectfully ask for privacy for this next chapter."
It has now been revealed that her Call the Midwife co-star Stephen McGann, who has played Dr Patrick Turner in the BBC period drama also since 2012, is at her side comforting her.
Speaking to the Daily Mail the actor said: "We're all like a family. Helen is fine, I love Helen and Jack."
