Who presents the British Soap Awards?
Phillip Schofield is currently expected to host the British Soap Awards, as he has done since 2006.
There’ll likely be much interest in Phillip’s appearance at the 2023 awards show, following his shock departure from ITV daytime’s This Morning.
Phillip, 61, confirmed he would ‘step down’ from This Morning on May 20 with immediate effect, after reports of ‘rift’ with co-host Holly Willoughby.
Soap star Debbie Arnold – best known as EastEnders character April Branning – has spoken out about Phil presenting the awards amid the attention.
She told GB News: ‘It’s not tainted Phillip Schofield as much as the fact that it will all be about him and not about these other poor actors who spent years trying to get these awards.
‘It will just be all about Phillip, nobody will even be looking at them, they’ll just be looking at him.’
