During the latest episode of The Chase, ITV host Bradley Walsh welcomed four new contestants onto the show. Lee, Lana, Rebecca and Bill worked together as they each went head-to-head with Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan. They had to work as a team and play strategically to answer general knowledge questions against the clock. However, things soon took a turn when Rebecca got a question about swimming wrong – leaving host Bradley in fits of laughter.
Lee was the first contestant to try his luck in the quickfire question round.
The football fanatic, who admitted he wanted to buy a Newcastle season ticket if he won any money, managed to answer five questions correctly.
Despite offering Lee the chance to win £25,000, the contestant decided to play it safe and went for £5,000.
It was very touch-and-go for Lee, although, he managed to make it through to the final round.
The second player to take on Jenny was content creator, Lana.
Things didn’t go well for Lana in the quickfire question round, although she managed to answer four questions correctly.
When it came to going head-to-head with Jenny, Lana was no match for the Chaser and she was sent home.
The next contestant to try their luck was graphic designer Rebecca.
Things didn’t go to plan for Rebeccas as she struggled to answer several questions correctly in the quickfire question round.
The host asked: “The painful condition, acute otitis externa is also known as swimmers what?”
Poor Rebecca looked blankly at Bradley as she replied and laughed: “Foot.”
After the quickfire question round was over, Bradley couldn’t resist mocking Rebecca over the wrong answer.
As he put his head into his arms, Bradley laughed: “Swimmer’s foot?”
“Well they use their feet, don’t they?” Rebecca replied. “You know I am not a big swimmer.”
“Cramp,” Bradley mocked. “I think it is just called cramp.”
Bradley then continued to laugh and mock the contestant as he began waving his arms around pretending he’d contracted “swimmer’s foot”.
Bill was the last contestant to take on The Vixen, and the cricket fan was no match for Jenny.
Despite giving it his best shot, it wasn’t enough to put him through to the final round.
Lee was left on his own in the final round and he only managed to answer 11 questions correctly.
Jenny then had two minutes to match Lee’s 11 questions. If she got any questions wrong, Lee would have the chance to push her back a space.
Despite stumbling on a couple of questions, Jenny was still able to answer 11 questions within two minutes – meaning Lee was sent home with nothing.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
