Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) was recently rocked by the news that granddaughter Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) only has a few months left to live in EastEnders.
Viewers will know that Lola was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour late last year, following a series of seizures.
After undergoing treatment to prolong her life, she was recently informed that the chemotherapy had stopped working, meaning that she only had months left.
She broke the news to her devastated family ahead of her fundraising event, but begged them not to tell Billy just yet.
When Billy returned from his job in Portugal, Lola was faced with the reality of having to break the heart-breaking news.
Hearing that she only had a matter of months to live left Billy distraught and Lola heartbroken by his reaction.
With Lola’s final days growing ever closer, her family are determined to make as many memories together as possible.
Recent scenes saw Billy enlist the help of Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) to find cover for Jay at Coker’s in order to allow him to have compassionate leave.
Jay was overwhelmed by the gesture, but Lola seemed thrilled that they would get to spend more time together.
On Coronation day, everyone is preparing for a big party, including Billy, who is determined to make things special for Lola.
As the festivities get underway, Billy and Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) are left frazzled as they try to create the perfect memory for Lola.
Will all go to plan?
