During the 90-minute finale, Jackson Michie is cornered by the jury who asks him to explain himself regarding his degrading and condescending treatment to female houseguests.
AceShowbiz -The final episode of 21 of “Big Brother” finally revealed who among the remaining houseguests took home the coveted $500,000. Those who were vying for the big prize in the 90-minute finale were server Jackson Michie, wine safari guide Holly Allen and preschool aide Nicole Anthony.
In the previous episode, Jackson won Part 1 of the final Head of Household competition, which meant he’d automatically advance to Part 3 to go against whoever won in Part 2. Meanwhile, the jury, which also featured Cliff Hogg, agreed that Jackson had been playing a ruthless game, while they thought that Holly rode Jackson’s coattails to the end. As for Nicole, her low-key social gamer gained equal praise and criticism.
Back to the game, Holly won as she completed the challenge, which involved climbing a rock wall in order to hang numbers next to pictures of different events that happened throughout the summer, faster than Nicole. Later in Part 3 of the final HoH competition, Holly and Jackson were asked to identify false statements made by the jury members about previous events from this season. Jackson won as he didn’t miss a single question and he shocked everyone by evicting Nicole.
During the interrogation, Jackson was cornered by the jury who asked him to explained himself regarding his degrading and condescending treatment to female houseguests. He then apologized after the first five evictees of the season were brought back. That night, Jackson was also confronted over his Night 1 decision to banish David, Jessica, Kemi and Cliff. As three of the four houseguests were minorities, viewers perceived Jackson’s move as a racist decision. Defending himself, Jackson said that it was purely strategic.
Now it was time to the jurors’ votes. Gaining 6 votes out of 9, the winner of “Big Brother” season 21 was Jackson! “I did it for my family. I did it for Mom, I did it for my dad” he told Julie Chen. “At the end of the day, what matters more to me than half a million is that they’re proud of me. And I just hope that everything’s all right.”
Meanwhile, Nicole went home with $25,000 after being named as America’s Favorite Houseguest.
