Breaking Bad mastermind Vince Gilligan returned to his world with an equally gripping spin-off, Better Call Saul, in 2016. Bob Odenkirk reprises his iconic role as Saul Goodman for the part-prequel, part-sequel crime drama on AMC, and a new teaser trailer on Instagram has confirmed the last episodes are due out soon.

Fans are convinced the first trailer for Better Call Saul season six has revealed the as yet unconfirmed date of the season premiere.

Some familiar faces have also returned in the first-look at the last season, the final instalment of showrunner Vince’s Breaking Bad universe.

Production wrapped up in New Mexico late last year following Bob’s full recovery from a small heart attack on set.

AMC has confirmed the last episodes will be released in 2022, but an exact release date has yet to be officially announced.

Now, it appears the network is one step closer to confirming when the show’s millions of fans will finally be able to get their hands on the first episode of season six.

A new first-look clip has called on fans to “mark their calendars” for the return of Better Call Saul.

The new footage features a crime scene outside the estate of crime boss Lalo Salamanca (played by Tony Dalton), who survived an assassination attempt at the end of season five.

Two sets of metallic boots step into the frame, before the signature suits and shaven heads of the Cousins (Daniel and Luis Moncada) are revealed.

Actor Luis posted the trailer on his own Instagram account to confirm the iconic hitmens’ return in season six.

He wrote: “FINALLY!!! It’s Coming…WE are Coming! Are you guys Ready for the Final Season?”

Not only does the teaser promise a better look at the series coming soon, but it may have inadvertently revealed the date of Better Call Saul’s season premiere.

Although viewers have been instructed to “mark your calendar”, a full release date never appears.

However, fans believe the crime scene markers have provided a subtle clue for when the first episode will finally surface.

Evidence markers bearing the letters “D” and “R” are shown front and centre in the trailer.

This could mean the first episode can be expected on April 18th, as D is the fourth letter of the alphabet and R is the 18th.

As this date falls on a Monday, Better Call Saul’s traditional timeslot, it would certainly fall in line with projections of a mid-2022 release.

Unfortunately, the network has yet to confirm or deny whether online sleuths have got it right this time.

Bob and the rest of the cast were last seen on screens in 2020, so fans are eager for the next season to surface sooner rather than later.

The TV legend was rushed to hospital in the middle of filming last July, but thankfully made a full recovery and had returned to set to finish the series by early September.

Better Call Saul season 6 premieres mid-2022 on AMC in the USA. A UK release date has yet to be confirmed.
