Captain Sandy Yawn from Below Deck Mediterranean reached out to fans on Instagram, urging for calm and sharing that the cast is going to pause interviews during this tumultuous time.
She shared a message about how to remain calm in the middle of the storm and also passed along some wisdom she received from her sister. She also wrote that while the cast and network would love to celebrate the show’s success, now is the time for reflection. The team will “bring the energy” next Monday.
Yawn received a slew of supportive messages. She also received a few questions, one about whether or not Hannah Ferrier gets fired or quits. She doesn’t answer the question but simply replies with an emoji.
Yawn passes along some wisdom from her sister
Yawn wrote on Instagram, “Calling all #belowdeckmed fans. Please stay safe out there. We are all human and what we need more than anything now is calm in the midst of this storm.”
“Remember it starts with ourselves and if we stay calm people listen: my sister thought me this; when you start escalating and lose control, people stop listening and they start watching,” she continued. “I find it hard to celebrate the success of our show knowing what’s going on. #bravotv wants us to celebrate our show’s success however they are postponing our interviews to show support for the current state of our #country. We love all of you so please stay calm and spread calm. We will bring the energy next Monday night!”

Yawn also shared her message of calm with deckhand Rhylee Gerber before the Below Deck season 7 reunion. “So my advice is don’t react,” Yawn told Gerber. “Stick to the facts. When you’re factual, and even my sister this afternoon shared with Rhylee, the minute you start getting elevated, they stop listening to you and they start watching you. When you stay calm and clear in your message and you don’t elevate, then they are still listening to you.”
Yawn is asked if Hannah Ferrier gets fired
Yawn urged calm and was reflecting on the moment. But Bravo fans still wanted the tea on the season. She wasn’t giving anything up but simply replied to a rumor that Hannah Ferrier was fired with an emoji.
A viewer wrote, “Did Bravo finally say it was ok to fire Hannah? Just curious.” Yawn’s simple response was, 😬. Page Six shared a remark from an unnamed source that Ferrier was fired.

However, Ferrier shared she was ready to quit the show. “I think I’m probably done,” Ferrier told ET. “I learned when I first started yachting in my very early 20s, you know, I would see these women who were in their late 30s, 40s, sitting at a bar, getting wasted with 20-year-olds living in a tiny cabin, and I was like, I don’t want [that].” Adding, “I want this to be a good, fun, enriching experience that allows me to travel a lot, but I don’t want to get to the stage where I’m locked into yachting and there’s nothing else in my life except that.”
Below Deck Mediterranean is on Monday at 9/8c on Bravo.
