BBC Breakfast viewers have slammed Sally Nugent for her interview with Scottish MP John Swinney.
The 51-year-old helmed Monday (October 10) morning's instalment of the BBC show alongside regular co-host Jon Kay, 52, as the pair discussed the top headlines for today.
Welcomed into the studio was the Deputy First Minister who discussed Nicola Sturgeon's comment about "detesting the Tories and everything they stand for."
John, 58, was asked by Sally whether he too detests the conservatives before he clarified that the Scottish Prime Minister actually detests "the Tories approach and their policy programme" during the cost of living crisis.
After speaking about the lack of action in tackling the cost of living crisis, the politician added that he understands why Nicola expressed herself the way she did.
The BBC star simply responded: "So in a word then, do you? Do you detest the Tories?"
Building on what he said before, he explained that he "associates himself with the comments," adding: "The Conservatives are taking the United Kingdom in a direction which is profoundly damaging for many people in our society."
He continued: "It's going to essentially take resources from the poorer in our society and give them to the rich. I don't want to be associated with that type of policy approach."
Sally interjected and read out the Scottish PM's direct quote, assuring that she said: "I detest the Tories."
Viewers fumed with Sally's approach to the interview, with several calling it "poor" and "incompetent."
"Poor from Sally. #BBCBreakfast," one user simply stated.
A second added: "Move on then Sally, poor interview wrapped round the axle on how poor the Tories are."
"#BBCBreakfast Sally Nugent is a complete and utter moron! I stand by those words! A daft and incompetent idiot," fumed another.
While a fourth viewer seethed: "Oh, do p*** off Sally Nugent. She’s such a blatant Tory, it’s embarrassing."
