There was shock passion between Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) in recent EastEnders scenes, when drunken Sam made a move on unsuspecting Alfie.
In the lead up to the unexpected kiss, Sam had been propping up the bar in the Vic following the events of the gym relaunch, which saw Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) propose to Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).
It was the main topic of conversation between her and Alfie, before things turned to her unlucky love life and his relationship with Linda Carter (Kellie Bright).
Soon, things took a turn for Sam, when brother Phil (Steve McFadden) undermined her over Lola’s (Danielle Harold) use of Peggy’s for her fundraising event.
After leaving the pub slightly worse for wear, Sam was confronted by Sharon, who accused her of putting Keanu up to the proposal that had left her humiliated.
It was then that her walls began to fall, as she admitted to Sharon how lonely she really was, warning the gym owner that she shouldn’t let Keanu slip away.
Sat alone on a bench in the Square, Alfie finally approached, wanting to check that she was okay after what had happened with Phil.
Drunk Sam got he wrong idea, taking Alfie’s kindness to mean something else, and ended up leaning in to kiss him.
Alfie immediately pushed her away, and quickly decided that he needed to get back to the pub.
Sam reluctantly told him to go, and leave her like everyone else does.
Does Sam really like Alfie, or is there something else going on?
