Noel Radford weighs up retiring
Fans of Britain’s biggest family, the Radfords, were delighted when the show returned for season three in January this year. In 2012, the family were propelled to stardom by the documentary 15 Kids And Counting. The series continued as the family has grown, and the Channel 5 show is now titled 22 Kids And Counting.
The family remain hugely popular, and they have already announced season four via Instagram.
Taking to their verified page they wrote: “We are currently having a well-earned little break from filming before heading into filming series 4 which we are very excited about.”
Despite their enormous brood the Radford’s have never relied on state handouts.
While they do claim child benefit, and they receive an unspecified amount for their participation in the hit Channel 5 show, they have always managed to support their family thanks to their bakery business.
It is clearly a lucrative enterprise as back in 2021 Noel and Sue admitted in the show that they had spent an astonishing £1 million bringing up their children in the year before their 21st child Bonnie was born.
Dad Noel is the literal breadwinner, having been a baker for 25 years and working his way up from trainee to manager to owner.
The business is a family affair, with Sue overseeing all the orders coming in and she also serves as “chief taste tester”.
Daughter Chloe is following in her father’s footsteps as an artisan pie maker, having helped in the bakery for five years, while son Daniel also helps prepare the deliveries.
The Radford Pie company is located near their family home in Morecambe, Lancashire and serves fresh, healthy pies to customers across the UK.
Their website states: “We have owned our own lovely bakery since 1999 which is how we manage to provide for (and feed) our huge and expanding family…
“We’re a real family business with both myself and Sue working at the helm along with some of our children to help us.”
Earlier this year, Noel announced that he was ‘retiring’ to spend more time with the kids.

“No more getting up early. Hang up my gloves, time to move on,” Noel told his wife.
However, after a lifetime of hard work he decided he found retirement too boring and later begged his kids to give him his job back.
When he asked to be let back into the bakery, Chloe replied: “You’re only an employee now.”
Despite managing to support their family with the bakery the Radfords are not rolling in dough.
“Absolutely not, we’re definitely not secret millionaires,” Sue responded when asked if the family were rich on a YouTube video.
“To me rich would be having the big mansion, the flash cars and quite a few hundred thousand in the bank, to me that would be rich but we are not that,” she confessed.
The only other source of income they get is through brand partnerships on social media.
They boast 514,000 Instagram followers and 360,000 YouTube subscribers.
Series three of 22 Kids and Counting is available on My5.
