TYSON FURY was on the way to a bloody win against Otto Wallin – while his coach was becoming a victim of the dreaded selfie.
The Gypsy King was left needing 47 stitches in a cut above his right eye after his brutal points win against Otto Wallin last weekend.
Ben Davison was his coach in the corner that night in Las Vegas, but he had work cut to do the job at hand by one eager boxing fan.
A man wearing glasses approached Fury's corner, where Davison was crouching watching his man do the business in the ring.
Holding up his phone with him alongside Davison in shot, the man asked Davison to "go with me here".
Davison, looking utterly stunned, replied, "Nah, not all mate."
SunSport reported how Davison was slammed for his role in Fury's ugly win against Wallin by the boxer's own dad.
John Fury was left "worried" by the performance and blamed a poor camp in the build-up to the fight.
He said: “I don't know how he has taken the cut in the third and made it to the 12th.
“It has gone terribly wrong in the camp and someone is to blame. Tyson never landed a meaningful punch.
“If Tyson had been in front of one of the top-three or Alexander Povetkin, he would not have won.
DAVISON SLAMMED
“I am a straight talker and that is the worst I have ever seen him.
“I have half an idea what went wrong but I cannot share it. He has done an eight-week camp but his strength and power have gone.
“He was as weak as a kitten. His body looked a lot softer tonight. He is not an 18st fighter, he wants to be body beautiful.
“I have seen this coming. I saw this coming.
“If he keeps hold of that team, that whole team, they will cost him his career. Ben Davison and everyone.
“The cutman is the only one who can take any credit. it was like a shark's mouth.
“If this was not his show, if he was the away fight, he would have been gone.”
WILDER REMATCH DATE IN DOUBT?
Davison hit back at John Fury, reminding him that he helped "save his son's life" by getting him back in the ring doing the thing he loves.
Despite the great work if Fury's cutman, there are fears that Fury will not be ready for his prospective February rematch against Deontay Wilder.
Undefeated former two-weight world champ Andre Ward believes that WBC world title clash should be put back to ensure the Gypsy King is fully healed.
He told the Max On Boxing YouTube channel: "Both guys feel like they got jobbed in the first fight.
"Wilder feels like it wasn’t a draw. Fury feels like he eked it out. We don’t want that kind of conversation after the rematch.
"Give the eye time to heal. Take a couple of extra months so we can give the fans, and the media what they want to see in the rematch."
