Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett is once again taking it to the next level.
The 90-year-old billionaire — a newly minted member of the $100 billion club — has put up a $1 million dollar reward for the Berkshire Hathaway employee who produces a perfect 2021 NCAA Tournament bracket.
With the odds of picking every single game correctly pegged at 1 in 9.2 quintillion, that’s clearly where the madness comes in.
Of course, there’s no shame in coming up short of perfection: the employee with the top bracket wins a cool $100,000.
That’s not all: getting all the 32 first-round games correct is worth $1 million, but getting all 48 first- and second-round games nets $1 million per year for life. According to a statement put out by Berkshire Hathaway, multiple employees have gotten as close as going 31-for-32.
One pick that will likely be popular among Berkshire Hathaway brackets: No. 5 Creighton, which is based in Buffett’s hometown of Omaha, NE. Should the Blue Jays make it through the West Region and into the Final Four, the winner’s prize doubles.
The 2021 bracket contest marks the fifth occurrence of Buffett’s challenge, with the 2020 NCAA Tournament having been wiped out due to COVID-19.
