Pedro Porro flew into London last night and will have his Tottenham medical this morning.
Spurs finally agreed a deal with Sporting Lisbon on Monday after a month of drawn-out negotiations.
The move at one point looked in doubt due to Sporting's ever-changing demands.
But Tottenham eventually signed off on a switch that could eventually cost them £45million – as well as knocking 15 per cent off their 50 per cent sell-on clause for former academy graduate Marcus Edwards.

Everton are interested in a deadline day move for Southampton striker Che Adams.
But the Telegraph claim that Saints don't want to sell the Scotland international, who was heavily linked with the Toffees and Leeds in the summer.

Southampton have triggered the £26m release clause of Braga striker Vitinha.

Porro heading for Tottenham
Pedro Porro travelled to London last night to complete his move to Tottenham.
A breakthrough was finally reached on Monday night with Spurs set to pay around £39m for the right-back's services.
At Lisbon airport, he said: "I'm grateful to Sporting, I love the club, I didn't train as I was only focused on the transfer to Spurs but I will always be thankful to the club."

Fulham are set to release Josh Onomah amid interest from Championship clubs, according to reports.
The midfielder has seen his game reduce significantly since playing 20 times as Fulham won the Championship last season.
Onomah has struggled to establish himself in the top flight after making 11 appearances in 2020-21 and just two this year.
Fulham are in talks with Onomah to cancel his contract six months before it was due to expire, claim Sky Sports.

Lescott upbeat about Dyche appointment
Ex-Everton defender Joleon Lescott reckons that Sean Dyche could turn things around at Goodison Park.
Dyche was confirmed as Frank Lampard's replacement earlier today and Lescott is optimistic about his appointment.
He told Live Score: "Not only does the 51-year-old have Premier League experience, but he's actually worked first-hand with some of the Everton squad in Dwight McNeil, Michael Keane and James Tarkowski.
"That's got to be a huge advantage when it comes to getting your ideas across quickly as a coach, having players in the building that know what you expect and can help their team-mates adjust.
"Some managers would look at Everton's current situation and think 'no thanks'.
