NORWICH star Max Aarons is a target for Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho — as his hopes of landing West Brom teenager Nathan Ferguson fade.

Spurs are keen to find a new man for their problem right-back position and are ready to go back for Aarons, 20, if the Canaries will do business.

Tottenham supremo Daniel Levy is happy to write a cheque of around £15million for a young English right-back and has narrowed the club’s search down to these two.

Ferguson, 19, came on the radar in a rush but is happy to wait for a possible huge move abroad.

If they find a replacement, the north Londoners will let academy product Kyle Walker-Peters go on loan with Brighton and Crystal Palace keen.

Meanwhile, the Eagles themselves are waiting for the green light from Chelsea to bring back forward Michy Batshuayi on loan.

Manager Roy Hodgson wants the exciting Belgian to return to Selhurst Park for the rest of this campaign in a repeat of his move last season.

And Palace hope the fact they have history with the hitman will give them an advantage — because Aston Villa have also sent out an SOS for him.

Palace are not in the market to buy 26-year-old Batshuayi because of his £40m valuation but they would pay a rental fee on top of his wages.

The deal hinges on Stamford Bridge boss Frank Lampard signing a new striker, with the Chelsea transfer chiefs due to close in on targets after a summit next week.

Lampard is said to be keen on Lyon star Moussa Dembele, who he has likened to Didier Drogba.
