OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER claims Manchester United fans back him — and his plans are going to work.
United face Arsenal on Monday with just three wins from eight games so far.
Some angry fans let rip on social media after scraping past Rochdale in the Carabao Cup on penalties.
But Ole says fans he meets believe in him. He said: “It’s very positive and they say ‘we can see what you’re doing keep going’.
“It’s easy to be positive when you meet someone face to face, it’s easy to hide behind social media and be negative.
“I’ve been amazed again by our supporters, to listen to the crowd at Old Trafford, they’re amazing and keep supporting us.”
Solskjaer feels it is time for fans, players and staff to stick together and trust him, as he tries to build a young and exciting team.
The Norwegian added: “I never said it was going to be easy this season. I said there will be ups and downs, highs and lows.
“When we lose a game we have to trust ourselves and what we’re doing and stick to the principles we believe in.
“It’s a team improving, evolving, a young team. The culture is there.
“I see them every single day in training. There is a work-rate and desire, now can we trust ourselves?”
Solskjaer believes the signings of Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have provided the defensive platform to build on.
But they need to get it right up front, having scored more than once only three times in the last 20 matches.
It means they cannot close games out — they drew 1-1 with League One Rochdale before going through on penalties.
But in Mason Greenwood, 17, they have a talent — scoring against Astana and Dale.
Solskjaer must now decide whether to hand Greenwood his first Prem start. He said: “In the box he’s dangerous, so I’m not worried about him.”
However, Paul Pogba could miss the Arsenal game with an ankle injury.
