SHANE Warne's heartbroken ex-wife Simone Callahan paid tribute to her "eternal love" after he died from a suspected heart attack.

The 52-year-old shared an emotional home video of the late cricket star smiling, playing and holidaying with their kids.

Shane and Simone met back in 1992 at a celebrity event in Melbourne when the blonde was working as a promotions girl for Aussie lager Foster’s.

The former model divorced the sporting hero in 2005, but they maintained a good relationship for the sake of their children.

They reignited their on-off relationship before officially becoming a couple again in 2009, before eventually splitting up for good.

Simone told The Sun On Sunday: “We really wanted to make it work and we had some happy times.

"But in the end we had grown too far apart and I still had trust issues because of all the times Shane had cheated."

In a 2022 documentary, titled Shane, Shane talked about the breakdown of his marriage.

He said: “I think that was the lowest. The impact on my children, they wouldn’t get to see me and that was my fault.

“I would go back and raid the mini bar. I was on my own on the hotel room floor, crying ‘you d***head'.”

Shane later went on to enjoy a romance with actress Elizabeth Hurley for three years until they split in 2013.

Liz paid tribute to her "Lionheart" ex-fiance, saying: "I feel like the sun has gone behind a cloud forever."
