IT was another Italian job in the Hampton Court Stakes as Frankie Dettori landed his fourth winner of the week aboard Sangarius.
Sir Michael Stoute's colt showed an impressive turn of foot to storm clear of his rivals in the Group 3 contest.
Always positioned towards the head of affairs, the three-year-old bounded away from a hot field to run out a very impressive winner.
Punters would have had cause for concern at the 2f pole as Dettori found himself trapped behind rivals, but he wrestled through bravely and his mount's response was immediate.
Only King Ottokar (5-1) threatened to make a race of it but he wasn't able to match the winner's stride.
In the end Charlie Fellowes' contender faded for third as Fox Chairman (7-2f) nabbed second late on.
Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manger to owner Khalid Abdullah, said: "He's growing into himself and he's learning.
"Frankie got off and said he'll be a nice horse next year – well he's a nice horse now!
"He's got a big future in front of him.
Winning rider Dettori said: "I had to fight through a small gap.
"I embrace this and thrive on it. I just hope I haven't used up all my luck on Stradivarius later!"
