MARK HUGHES is favourite in the Premier League sack race after Southampton were thrashed 6-1 by Manchester City.
The Saints boss is now 2/1 to be the first manager to receive axe in the English top-flight as they are just two points above the drop zone.
Hughes has the lowest win percentage of any Saints boss after 20 league games.
The former Southampton player has only managed just five wins from 23 matches in all competitions since taking over as boss at St Mary's.
Saints' next game is away to Fulham who are also struggling and if they fail to pick up a result at Craven Cottage, the Southampton board would be under immense pressure.
Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic was the former favourite in the sack race, but he is now behind Hughes in the market at 5/2.
Premier League sack race
Mark Hughes 2/1
Slavisa Jokanovic 5/2
Mauricio Pochettino 4/1
Jose Mourinho 6/1
Neil Warnock 8/1
Rafa Benitez 10/1
Claude Puel 14/1
Roy Hodgson 16/1
David Wagner 18/1
Sean Dyche 25/1
All eyes will be on Jokanovic this evening as the Cottagers face Huddersfield away from home.
Fulham have lost five games in a row and take on the Terriers who are also on a dismal run of form, having failed to win a game all season.
Meanwhile Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is the third favourite to be the next Premier League boss to leave his post at 4/1.
This is due to strong rumours linking Poch with a move to Spurs.
