PAUL POGBA has told Manchester United he wants to leave and admitted he needs a new challenge elsewhere.

Pogba is being tracked by Real Madrid, who are ready to launch a £150million bid to take him to the Bernabeu.

Juventus are also hoping to take him back to Turin – and United now know their star midfielder sees his future away from Old Trafford.

Speaking on a promotional tour in Tokyo, Pogba said: "Like you said, there is a lot of talking and a lot of thinking as well.

"For me I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great, some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else.

"After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well… I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else.

"I am thinking of this – to have a new challenge somewhere else."

Pogba has been taking part in a tour of Asia while leaving it to his agent Mino Raiola to sort out his future.

Raiola, who last week successfully overturned a Fifa ban on him working, is trying to negotiate a route out of Old Trafford with Real and Juve the two clubs most interested.

Real boss Zinedine Zidane has told his bosses in Madrid that he is intent on signing the French World Cup winner this summer as part of his squad rebuild.

And Juve held meetings with United in London this week to find out if a deal was possible as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ponders his own summer rebuild at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer knows it is approaching decision time with Pogba, and if United can bring in £150m it would at least offer him more money to bring in his own players.

United are prepared to go to £80m to take Leicester's Harry Maguire, while they also hope to persuade Crystal Palace to lower their £70m asking price for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
