MLB is not hearing it.
The league cleared the Astros of any wrongdoing after the Yankees were furious with whistles they claim were coming from Houston’s dugout during Game 1 of the ALCS as a way to signal batters.
According to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, “MLB had an official in the camera well next to the Astros’ dugout in G1 and one in the back of the dugout in G2. Neither officials nor umpires heard whistling.”
The Astros did not seem to benefit in Game 1, losing 7-0 against Yankees ace Masahiro Tanaka. However, the Yankees are not alone in this belief.
“I don’t think it’s any secret they do it,’’ a person connected to an AL West team told The Post’s George A. King III. “They bang pipes. We have heard they have cameras around the park and that some way of communicating originates from their bullpen. Just look at their home record.’’
The Astros were 60-21 at Minute Maid Park during the regular season, and are 4-1 at home in the postseason.
