MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly set to hold talks with Alejandro Garnacho over extending his contract.

The youngster is very highly rated at Old Trafford and made his first-team debut last season.

He has also been recognised at international level with Argentina calling him up to the senior squad as a 17-year-old in March.

United are desperate to hold onto the wonderkid and are set to meet with his agents in the coming days to talk about his future.

According to AS, United chiefs will discuss a new contract with the winger.

Garnacho is under contract at United until 2025 but the club want to extend his stay after he impressed Erik ten Hag in pre-season.

United want to deter clubs making a move for Garnacho with Real Madrid reportedly showing an interest in the summer.

Real are watching him "very closely" but there are also other clubs keeping an eye on the Argentine.

Garnacho enjoyed a breakout season with United's under-18s as he amassed a total of 14 goals and six assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.
