MANCHESTER UNITED have dropped a huge hint that Fred could be set for the exit door.

The midfielder has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer as part of Erik ten Hag's clearout.

Fred, 30, did not make an appearance during the club's pre-season opener against Leeds in Norway.

Man United have said that the Brazilian did not feature against the Championship as a "precaution".

However, the club did not say that he was injured and that he is "managing his workload".

Feed last played six weeks ago and has since been on his holidays during the off-season.
