MANCHESTER UNITED could reportedly miss out on signing Leeds ace Kalvin Phillips to Aston Villa.

Steven Gerrard's Villans will make another attempt to sign Phillips in the summer transfer window.

And according to the Telegraph, Villa are prepared to pay a club record fee of £60million, which could see Man Utd miss out.

Boss Gerrard would like a player who can protect the back four and allow his attacking talent to flourish.

There's often a gap left between defence and attack due to the offensive qualities of players such as John McGinn and Jacob Ramsey.

However, it wont be easy to land boyhood Leeds fan Phillips.
