A former Los Angles Dodgers draft pick is now pursuing a modeling career.
Relief pitcher James Turlington Carter was drafted in 2016 in the 21st round out of UC Santa Barbara after the team made it to the College World Series. He then bounced around in the minor leagues, playing for a number of Class A teams.
Now he has a new pursuit.
Carter announced Saturday that he's signed with IMG Models Worldwide, which represents talents such as Gisele Bundchen, Gigi Hadid and Ashley Graham.
"I am beyond grateful for the places this game has taken me. I’ll never forget the experiences, life lessons and friendships that came with playing the greatest game," he wrote in an Instagram post Friday. "But as one chapter ends, another begins. Excited to start this new chapter and continue to grow and evolve as a person."
