INTER MILAN are reportedly lining up a £45million bid for Paris Saint-Germain star Edinson Cavani.

Repubblica claims the Uruguay international could be heading to the San Siro this summer as Inter prepare to give up on Romelu Lukaku, 26.

Manchester United are refusing to budge on his £75million price-tag.

And Inter can only afford to increase their original £55m offer to £65m.

That has opened the door for Antonio Conte to move for Cavani, 32.

The former Napoli star is reportedly open to leaving the Parc des Princes this summer.

He struggled to forge a partnership with Neymar in attack over the past two seasons.

And Cavani could now be in line for a return to Italy with Inter, with PSG valuing him at £45m.

Conte is desperate to bring in a striker as soon as possible after initially believing Lukaku would be easy to land.

The Belgian now looks set to instead join rivals Juventus, with Paulo Dybala heading the opposite way in a swap deal.

Inter have sidelined Mauro Icardi, giving them no way back with the Argentine forward.

But Cavani could now be on his way to the club to boost Conte’s Serie A title chances.
