MANCHESTER UNITED are increasingly confident of sealing a deal for Antoine Griezmann and the Frenchman's arrival could revolutionise their starting line-up.

As SunSport have revealed, United are set to make a last-ditch £95million move to snap up the striker and kick-start the serious summer shake-up fans are after.

Not only are the Red Devils seeking major reinforcements following the confirmation of first signing Daniel James, many big names could be leaving.

David de Gea is out of contract in a year's time and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly run out of patience with Paul Pogba.

Furthermore, Inter Milan are linked with a big money move for Romelu Lukaku.

DEFENSIVE DYAMOS

Current custodian de Gea has only a year left to run on his contract and is wanted by both Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.

What's more, it is understood the Red Devils are ready to hand over a £20m golden handshake if the Spaniard leaves quietly.

A plethora of goalkeepers have been named as replacements, from Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak to Barcelona reserve Jasper Cillessen.

But both come with hefty price tags – over £100m for Slovenian star Oblak – and therefore United may have to look for a bargain.

After Ajax's stellar run to the Champions League semi-finals, Andre Onana is thought to be going for just £40m and club bosses are fans of the 23-year-old.

Across the backline, Luke Shaw is a favourite of Solskjaer's and won't face competition from a new signing – but the same can't be said about his colleagues.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a big target at right-back and the club are set to test Crystal Palace with a fresh £50m offer after failing with an initial £40m bid.

In the centre of defence, even the staunchest of Old Trafford optimists are sensing that Chris Smalling, Paul Jones, Eric Bailly, Marcos Rojo and Victor Lindelof aren't a winning combination.

Centre-back pair Kalidou Koulibaly and Harry Maguire are the big names on their radar, coming to a combined cost of over £150m.

That is a sizeable outlay but this is a key area to bolster if the funds can be raised from major sales.

POG OFF

The chief fundraiser of this Old Trafford plot is the sale of Pogba to Real Madrid, although key decision makers are said to be split on the deal.

If Los Blancos commit to a £135m fee, that will strengthen Solskjaer's warchest and he may not need an immediate replacement.

Nemanja Matic struggled towards the end of last season but remains a solid partner for Scott McTominay if the manager wants an industrious midfield base.

Ahead of them, Jesse Lingard is a similarly hard working attacking option – reportedly about to sign a new £130,000-a-week contract.

Marcus Rashford may have a contract wrangle of his own ahead of him but the thought of him being sold this summer is somewhat preposterous.

United fans can be confident of the English forward taking his place in the XI next season and the daring pairing of Rashford and James would ramp up the team's pace potential.

After paying Swansea City £15m for the Welsh teenager, Solskjaer could do a lot worse than throw him in at the deep end.

And who better for James to learn off than Griezmann?

United are preparing a £95m move for the Frenchman and snatching him off Barcelona would represent a major push against the club's decline.

Griezmann has netted at least 15 goals in six consecutive La Liga campaigns and is undoubtedly a mark up from Lukaku.

With Inter ready to pay £75m for the Belgian, Solskjaer can be confident that Rashford, Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez can provide the back up to their prospective record signing.

The bench would also contain the likes of Fred, Diogo Dalot and Andreas Pereira, giving the Red Devils a very promising side to build from after years in the title wilderness.
