GARETH BALE has incredibly been named in Real Madrid's starting line-up for their opening La Liga match against Celta Vigo.
Zinedine Zidane has vowed to put his faith in the Wales international after a summer of speculation surrounding his future.
Bale, 30, looked set to join Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning in July until Madrid blocked the move.
Zidane claimed his departure from the Bernabeu would be a "good thing for everyone".
But the French manager appears to have changed his views towards the former Spurs forward.
In a pre-match press conference, Zidane said: "It seemed Bale was going to leave but today he is here with us.
"The dynamics are changing, things are changing. From now on I will rely on him as on others.
"I will rely on all the players who are here. He has his place, he is an important player and I hope all the players will make the task of choosing a team difficult."
Bale has been named in Madrid's starting XI for the first time since a match against Rayo Vallecano on 28 April.
He was omitted from the friendly against RB Salzburg and missed the club's trip to Germany for the Audi Cup.
James Rodriguez has been left on the sidelines after he was also linked with a summer move away from Madrid.
Fans on Twitter have urged Bale to take his opportunity to redeem his reputation in Spain.
One fan said: "Gareth Bale has now got a real chance to renew his recent legacy at Real Madrid. If he can have a strong season, what a fairy tale it would turn up to be."
While another said: "Let's go Bale, don't miss out on your chance."
