Manchester United midfielder Fred was struck by an object during the Manchester Derby at the Etihad Stadium.
The Brazilian midfielder went over to take a corner kick just after the hour mark where he was met by many disgruntled home fans.
The Manchester City supporters jeered Fred and some threw objects in his direction – with one striking him.

The midfielder then clutched onto the back of his neck in some pain but thankfully was not too hurt by the incident.
City fans continued to cause unsavoury scenes during the taking of the corner kick, ultimately frustrated that their side were 2-0 down at the time.
Fred managed to play on and camera shots on the Sky Sports coverage pictured what appeared to be several lighters on the pitch by the corner flag and a water bottle.
Manchester United stunned their rivals Manchester City at the Etihad after going 2-0 up in the first-half.
Marcus Rashford converted from the penalty spot after being fouled by Bernardo Silva and Anthony Martial doubled the visitors lead shortly after.
Fred played a crucial part for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in the middle of the park with one of his best performances this season for United.
