After months of speculation, former WWE superstar Tye Dillinger – now going by his previous wrestling persona Shawn Spears – is coming to All Elite Wrestling.

The company revealed in a video on Twitter that Spears will be one of the participants in the 21-man Casino Battle Royal at this Saturday’s AEW Double or Nothing event. He was dealt a card for his entry number and, as you would expect, “The Perfect 10” drew a ten of diamonds.
The battle royal will air during the free kickoff show titled The Buy In, airing for free on AEW’s social media channels. The winner of the bout will be awarded a future shot at the AEW World Championship.
AEW’s Double or Nothing will air live on pay-per-view in the United States on B/R Live as part of its new deal with WarnerMedia. The show will be available elsewhere around the world on pay-per-view via the FITE TV app.
Spears originally signed with WWE in 2006 but left in 2009 and then returned in 2013 as part of the NXT brand. During that time, he rose up the ranks as a fan favorite as “The Perfect 10,” making his first appearance on the WWE main roster at the 2017 Royal Rumble. A few months later, he was officially called up but spent the next few years lost in the shuffle and rarely used on television.
The 38-year-old took to social media earlier this year asking for his release and was officially granted it on Feb. 22.
Spears recently announced that he is partnering with current WWE superstar Tyler Breeze in opening a wrestling school called Flatbacks in Apopka, Fla., which is just outside of Orlando.
