FANS are certain rugby legend Stuart Hogg has already started his new career just days after his shock retirement.

Scotland's record try scorer, 31, was desperate to play in September's World Cup.

But he hung up his boots earlier this month saying his body could no longer cope with the demands of the sport.

Fast forward a few days though and Hogg looks to have gone full pelt into another sport not exactly known for its safety.

Hogg posted five photos of himself riding a horse at speed and looking every inch the natural jockey.

And while it's a stretch to go from the type of riding Hogg was doing to pelting down a straight at 40mph, fans predicted a few more appearances in the saddle could be upcoming.

One said: "So the new career is… point to point jockey?"

Another wrote: "When is your first point to point then?"

While one comment read: "I always though Hoggy looked more like a jockey than a rugby player."

Even those in the sport appeared impressed, with jumps jockey Nick Scholfield writing: "Class."

It's O'Neill who is famous for his association with AP McCoy – who happened to be Hogg's all-time hero.

O'Neill trained Don't Push It, who McCoy rode to victory in the 2010 Grand National.

Hogg, who dreamed of being a jockey growing up, told the BBC what watching that race meant to him.

He said: "I just loved the reaction, he looked like he almost kind of fell off the horse in celebration going over the finishing line.

"That's a race he always wanted to win and it took him 15 years to finally get there. It was meant to be.

"He was coming towards the end of his career and I think it would have killed him not to have won that before he retired.

"I just loved seeing it, the celebrations and how much it meant to him.
