FORMER Manchester United star Ander Herrera has picked up an injury before the 2019-20 season even kicked off following his free transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Spaniard, 29, is set to miss around three to four weeks with a calf injury before the Ligue 1 season has even got underway.
Herrera picked up the knock at the end of a training session Wednesday, according to the club.
On Twitter, PSG's official account wrote: "@AnderHerrera injured his left calf this morning at the end of training.
"He will resume training with the group in three to four weeks depending on the evolution of his injury."
On the knock, Herrera took to Instagram to update fans, writing: "Sometimes football and life test us to see our capacity to fight.
"I am already working to be back soon and as good as possible."
Herrera was in good form during pre-season, with fans admiring his work-rate since leaving Man Utd – which the player blames on the board.
The midfielder played just over an hour in PSG's Trophee des Champions win over Rennes in China last week
But he will miss the start of the French top-flight season with the calf injury.
Meanwhile, there is good news for Neymar – who was shoved out of PSG's Trophee des Champions celebrations by team-mate Kylian Mbappe.
Despite not playing a single minute in pre-season, the Brazilian star is back in training and could even be ready for PSG's Ligue 1 opener against Nimes.
