Usman Khawaja was the star of the show for Australia, hitting and unbeaten ton while also sharing an unbroken 91-run partnership with Alex Carey at the end of the day.

Australia are now just 82 runs adrift of England’s first innings total, but Ben Stokes’s side will believe a couple of early wickets could give them a chance of taking a slender lead into the second innings.
