DARREN TILL has confirmed the UFC agreed to let him out of his contract before insisting "I'll be back".

Reports of the 30-year-old Brit being axed by the MMA organisation emerged on Tuesday morning.

But Till was quick to clarify his situation and quash any talk of a breakdown in relationship with the UFC, president Dana White or chief business officer Hunter Campbell.

Speaking on Twitter, he said: "What’s happening everyone,
Me, Dana & Hunter are still cool as f**k.

"I asked UFC to remove me just to sort some other s**t for the foreseeable.

"They happily agreed to release me out of contract which I appreciate.

"I’m not going anywhere, got big plans to execute and I’ll be back. 🦍"

Till's run of 17 wins and one draw was brought to an end by Tyron Woodley in 2018 when he came up short in his challenge for the UFC welterweight title.

Six months later, he was then knocked out cold by Jorge Masvidal as back-to-back defeats left him in need of a win.

He secured that victory by moving up to middleweight and clinching a split-decision triumph over Kevin Gastelum in November 2019.

But that failed to stem the tide as three successive losses followed against Robert Whittaker, Derek Brunson and Du Plessis.

Following his latest defeat, Till insisted he would not retire but gave a frank assessment of his career trajectory.

He said: "You don't always get what you want in this life, it's tough. I'm 29 now, I've been at the top of this sport since 2017 I entered the UFC in 2015.

"I'm doing this video because I feel like I should do it now, the right time is now.

"I'm not retiring this is not a retirement speech. I'm 29, that'd be stupid to retire but I'm on a bit of a losing skid at the moment."
