Chelsea offered defender Thiago Silva on free transfer from Champions League finalists PSG

CHELSEA have reportedly been offered Thiago Silva on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 35-year-old will line-up for the French side in Sunday’s Champions League Final before leaving the club after eight years.

Both Fiorentina and AC Milan have shown interest in the veteran but he wants to fulfil his dream of playing in the Premier League.

And The Telegraph claims the Brazilian is ready to take a huge wage cut on his £300,000-a-week deal at PSG to achieve that.

Now he is set for talks with Chelsea over a potential two-year deal to move to Stamford Bridge.

Blues boss Frank Lampard is desperate for defensive reinforcements after his team shipped 54 goals in the top-flight.

Thiago would definitely add experience to his backline and could provide Chelsea with a short-term solution to their defensive woes.

Speaking earlier this week, he said: “I have already said a lot of times before I wanted to, that I want to finish [my career] here in Europe.

“A decision was taken, now things are calm in my head.

“It will be in another club, but my heart will stay here.”
