Cate Campbell says she has been energised by some of the "electrifying" swims in Brisbane as the former world-record holder hits the pool on day five of the world championship trials.
Campbell is back in her old pool at Chandler, the same one where she set the world 100m freestyle mark before the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. She looked strong again on Thursday morning as she moved through to lane four in the final later in the evening.

Campbell posted a 52.87s to be the fastest qualifier, which is already the fifth-fastest in the world this year. That mark will be lowered on Thursday night as the sprint star wants to be another that fires a shot across the bows of her rivals ahead of July's FINA World Championships in Korea.
"There have been some electrifying swims. The women's 200m free right across the board, the 100m freestyle, Kyle (Chalmers) doing a world-class time. It's great to finally start instead of sitting around biting my nails," Campbell said.
"It's hard waiting around until day five but we've done it for years. You're always most nervous for your first swim so it was good to go out and post a strong time."
Already Chalmers and Mitch Larkin have drawn a line in the sand in the 100m freestyle and 200m IM, while Ariarne Titmus has continued to shave time off her 400m as she chases down American ace Katie Ledecky.
Campbell now has four of the 10 fastest times in the world this year but her great Swedish rival Sarah Sjoestroem, who owns the world record, is ever-present and their clash in Korea will be one of the highlights of the meet.
Bronte Campbell looked good in her heat, qualifying fifth fastest and saying she had finally recovered from illness. She has niggles and shoulder injuries but those will be continually managed for the rest of her career.
"I am finally healthy. I had a big long bout of illness earlier this year. But I'm healthy now, healthy at the right time and happy to be here," Bronte said.
Emma McKeon and Shayna Jack were the second and third fastest ahead of the final and both stand to be key swimmers in the women's all-conquering 4 x 100m freestyle relay, which will be white-hot favourite to take gold in Korea.
