BRUNO FERNANDES is comfortably outperforming his potential new team-mates when it comes to creating chances  – highlighting why Manchester United are trying to sign him.

The attacking midfielder, 25, is being lined up for a £51million switch from Sporting Lisbon after being linked with an Old Trafford move over the summer.

Despite hammering Norwich 4-0 on Saturday, United have struggled for goals this season, scoring 36 in 22 games.

That is the second fewest in the top six with only newly-promoted Sheffield United's 24 strikes below them.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have hit the net 50 times and Manchester City have a whopping 62 goals.
