TOTTENHAM are in “advanced talks” with left-back Ben Davies over a new five-year contract.

The Welshman, 26, is set to extend his deal later this month, according to The Telegraph.

He has two-years left on his current contract but with speculation over Danny Rose’s future, Tottenham chiefs are hoping to tie Davies’ future down.

Davies had groin surgery last month having suffered with discomfort throughout the season.

England international Rose is one of eight Spurs players reportedly heading for the chop this summer.

Joining Rose on the way out is fellow England full-back Kieran Trippier, who is linked to a switch to Serie A with Napoli and Juventus.

Mauricio Pochettino wants Davies to become his first-choice left-back, with the contract extension set to be officially signed in the next few weeks.

The Tottenham boss is set to offload a number of first-teamers as he looks to rebuild his squad after last season’s Champions League final defeat.
