BARCELONA believe they are winning the race to sign Neymar after making a fresh £153million bid to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Spanish champions have been in the French capital for a series of meetings with PSG aiming to thrash out a deal for the Brazilian superstar.
Barca are battling it out with Real Madrid for the signature of the 27-year-old who wants to quit France and return to La Liga.
And the club are growing in confidence that they can get a deal over the line for the forward before the transfer window closes on September 2.
Barcelona director Javier Bordas told reporters in Spain: "We are getting closer."
It is believed PSG have told the Barca they will come back with their answer today about the bid.
PSG are looking for something close to the £198m they paid to sign Neymar two years ago in an attempt to move onto a new level in European football.
The move has not gone as well as had hoped, with the French club failing to make it through to the latter stages of the Champions League in either season.
Neymar has seemingly become bored of life in Paris and playing in the French league and made no secret of his desire to return to Spain.
But a return to the Nou Camp is not the only offer on the table, with Real themselves trying to put together a player-plus-cash deal that would tempt PSG.
Barca are now appearing to be the favourites to get the agreement done, with winger Ousmane Dembele interesting the French club.
Dembele has suffered a nightmare with injuries in his time with Barca, and the French international may be interested in a return to his home country.
